We're not a member of the local Better Business Bureau. We'd like to be, but after being recruited by them I just didn't see the point.
We're fully qualified to be a BBB member. We've been in business for 12 years, we've had no complaints against us, and we operate in an ethical manner.
We were actually approved and accepted into the BBB. But then we found out something strange. We weren't allowed to tell you that we're a BBB member! At least not here on the website. BBB allows members to use the BBB logo on any printed materials, but NOT a website.
What? Are you serious? What kind of antiquated notion is this? Oh, I see. They want more money to use the logo on a website ...
Another thing that irked me was the fact they only had two categories for photographers, "commercial" (like magazine and advertising) and "portrait". No wedding or sports photographers, which is probably the large majority of photographers out there. "Can you add them?" "No"
So I cancelled our application and we're not an official member of the BBB. But here's the strange little twist: there's no real benefit to being a member anyway. The BBB tracks consumer complaints on businesses whether they're a BBB member or not! So go ahead and visit The Better Business Bureau of Northeast Florida and search for us. Or you can just jump directly to our company report for Addy & Associates . They'll tell you they have no complaints on file. We have nothing to hide.
And I just saved about $500!!!
